Chapter Meeting: Working with law enforcement on the day of a crisis
According to the webinar we viewed in our summer series, workplace violence
is the number one growing crisis that we as PR professionals need to be
prepared to address. Whether that mean's our own workplace or helping a
client address an incident at their workplace, we need to be prepared. Key
to that is having good interaction with any law enforcement officials who
are on scene.
At this month's meeting, FBI Special Agent in Charge Richard Lambert will
give us his perspective on how we as organizational spokespeople should be
interacting with law enforcement...some dos and don'ts.
SAC Lambert took charge of the Knoxville Field Office in June 2006. Prior
to that appointment, he was detailed to the Washington Field Office to
oversee the AMERITHRAX case, the FBI's investigation into the anthrax
bio-terrorism attacks which occurred in the fall of 2001. Earlier
assignments included managing the the San Diego Field Office Foreign
Counterintelligence and Counterterrorism Programs, including oversight of
the Joint Terrorism Task Force and coordination of the field office's
investigation of the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
