As the primary investigative arm of the federal government, the FBI is responsible for protecting the United States by preventing future terrorist attacks, conducting sensitive national security investigations, and enforcing over 260 federal statutes.

The FBI also works with other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in investigating matters of joint interest and in training law enforcement officers from around the world.
Major Duties:
GS-07: Performs duties related to the instantaneous retrieval of information from FBI and non-FBI computerized informational systems. Provides technical support through the operations of a centralized information network. Operates a wide variety of complex specialized automated informational sources, including FBI, local and state law enforcement databases. Analyzes and evaluates information from a variety of computerized data systems to determine the essential information as well as to identify what information is significant to the requester. Determines the value, significance and relevance of the information developed and supplements same by locating and extracting additional data to provide more precise, specialized, or customized information to meet both the stated and unrealized needs of the requester. Serves as team member for all informational services provided to FBI and other local, state, and federal law enforcement agency personnel during Command Post operations. Prepares inclusive reports for wide range of requesters.

Evaluates, analyzes, and disseminates information to law crisis operations, planned interagency activities, and all special operations. Manipulates a wide variety of complex specialized enforcement databases. Analyzes and evaluates information contained within a variety of specialized computerized data systems to identify what information is significant to the requester. Considers the type of operations involved, the purpose of the request, and the objective of the requester. Determines the value, significance, and relevance of the information developed and supplements same by locating and extracting additional data. Prepares comprehensive, inclusive reports for a wide range of requesters.
Qualifications:
Qualifications for the GS-07: Applicant must have one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-05 level. SE is work which required knowledge of the principles, theories, practices, techniques and terminology related to accessing and disseminating intelligence or other related specialized information.
Qualifications for the GS-09: Applicant must have one (1) year of SE at the GS-07 level. SE is work which requires knowledge of the principles, theories, practices, techniques and terminology related to accessing and disseminating intelligence or other related specialized information.
Salary:
GS-07: $38,117.00 - $49,553.00
GS-09: $46,625.00 - $60,612.00

* Must be able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI clearance.
