Description:
This position encompasses three major activities: Coordination of Library
Instruction, Marketing of Library Services, and Reference Services.
Coordination of Library Instruction includes being the primary instructor
of the library instruction classes; coordinating handout creation and
maintenance; and guiding the librarians to the latest instructional
methodologies and assessment techniques. Marketing of Library Services
entails producing creative information delivery techniques and templates
that can be used by all librarians in their effort to reach out and
communicate with faculty on a regular basis. Reference Service includes
covering the reference desk one evening a week and some weekends. Other
duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
ALA-accredited MLS; one year of reference and instruction experience in an
academic library; knowledge of trends in reference and instruction
services. A strong commitment to public service.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the
ability to work effectively with library staff, students, faculty, and
members of the general public.
Salary:
This is a full-time, exempt position. The starting salary scale will be
based on the Lee College Faculty 12-month Salary Scale and will be
commensurate with education and experience. Excellent college benefits
will accrue with this position.
