The University of Northern Iowa (www.uni.edu) prides itself on putting

undergraduate education, as well as complementary programs at the
master's, specialist and doctoral levels. Building on its historic
excellence in teacher education, the university has developed
outstanding programs in business, natural sciences, humanities and fine
arts, and social and behavioral sciences. One of three state
universities, UNI enjoys national recognition for its high educational
standards. U.S. News and World Report has ranked the University of
Northern Iowa second among Midwest public universities for 11
consecutive years.
The university's medium size--around 12,600 students--allows it to offer
faculty, facilities and academic choices of a major university, while
retaining a friendly, small-college atmosphere on a compact, park-like
campus. With more than 40 major buildings on 850 acres, the campus can
still be crossed in an easy 15-minute walk.
Experiential learning opportunities such as undergraduate research,
internships, student teaching, international study programs, community
volunteering and cooperative education encourage a classroom knowledge
connection with real-world experience. A rigorous Liberal Arts core
curriculum equips students with a broad understanding and knowledge of
how to apply and acquire new information throughout life.
Applications are encouraged from minority persons, women, veterans and
persons with disabilities. Complete applications received by March 21,
2008, will be given full consideration. The position is available
