Environment:
Hiwassee College is a private, residential 2-year college located in 
Madisonville, TN. 

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice president and Academic Dean, the Director of Library 
Services is responsible for providing creative leadership in a team-based 
environment. The Director will have administrative responsibility for all 
aspects of the college library, including leadership and supervision of 
staff; budgeting and financial oversight, planning and overseeing 
technology projects and services, marketing the library; and long-range 
planning and policy formulation. The Director is expected to be active in 
campus affairs and to be responsive to faculty and students in matters 
concerning library services.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess: an ALA-accredited masters degree; 
significant, recent experience in academic library management, knowledge 
of services to be administered; and demonstrated ability to provide 
creative leadership in a team setting. The successful candidate will be 
able to promote cooperation among work groups, set priorities and allocate 
resources, and initiate and manage change in an evolving technological 
environment. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent 
communication skills, flexibility and initiative, commitment to the 
profession, and be able to meet library and college promotion and tenure 
criteria. 

Salary and Benefits: 
12 month tenure-track appointment with faculty rank. Salary and academic 
rank commensurate with qualifications.
