POSITION: Assistant/Associate Professor in Librarianship
EFFECTIVE DATE: August 25, 2008
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Earned doctorate in librarianship or related field
or ABD if will complete requirements by August, 2008;
* Master of Library Science/equivalent or Library
Media Teacher Services/Librarianship Credential;
* Successful professional experience working with
K-12 students;
* Successful professional experience working in
library settings, preferably in school settings;
* Ability and experience with information and
instructional technology;
* Successful professional experience teaching adults;
* Record of scholarly activity appropriate to rank;
* Successful professional experience in
multicultural/multilingual settings;
* Ability to communicate effectively with an
ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* University teaching and supervision experience;
* Successful professional experience working in two
or more types of libraries (i.e., public, academic,
special, school);
* Successful profession experience teaching in an
online environment.
DUTIES:
* Teach courses, supervise field experience in
credential and graduate programs in librarianship;
* Assist with the recruitment, advisement and
retention of culturally and linguistically diverse
students;
* Assist with program coordination; and advance
program relations with community and professional
associations;
* Participate in scholarly activities and service to
department, college, university, and community
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with academic rank
(Assistant-Associate).
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION: Letter of application, curriculum

institution awarding highest degree. Documentation of
teaching ability.
