Monthly salary&#58; $ 3833 negotiable depending on qualifications. 
Location&#58; Arlington, TX 

The Science&#47;Engineering Librarian serves as one of 3 liaison
librarians to the College of Science and College of Engineering and
contributes to and supports the Library's mission to foster and promote
quality learning, teaching and research. Serves as liaison in the assigned
academic disciplines including development of reference collections, grant
resources, information literacy programs, promotion and outreach, and
specialized library services. Provides high level reference & information
services including advanced consultative and&#47;or complex reference
assistance to researchers, particularly graduate students and faculty in
person and online. Participates with instruction teams to create and
deliver innovative instruction sessions and outreach programs for faculty
and students which incorporate the use of active learning strategies both
in person and online. Consults and collaborates with Information Resources
librarians on collection development and management of the reference
collection, including purchases, transfers and withdrawals for both print
and electronic resources. Assists in coverage of the circulation desk due
to a combined service point. Serves on library, university and
professional committees and organizations. Attends training and
professional seminars to maintain and increase knowledge and to keep up
with current library trends. 
Required qualifications&#58; Master's degree from an American Library
Association accredited program. Knowledge of technology in the design and
delivery of research services and instruction. Current knowledge of print
and electronic resources and collection management techniques. Knowledge
of the research process and evolving models of scholarly communication.
Demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team
setting. Able to adapt and work creatively in a changing environment.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication
skills. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills. Competency
with MS Outlook; MS Office; Windows Operating System and file management. 
Preferred qualifications&#58; Public service experience in an academic
library. Experience providing effective reference service and library
instruction to a diverse community of users. Experience with collection
management in one of the assigned subject areas. Creativity and experience
designing instructional or informational materials, both in print and
online. Experience with bibliographic management software, specifically
RefWorks. Experience in outreach and marketing services to the academic
community. Knowledge of circulation duties using an integrated library
system. Collaboration with grant writing faculty and familiarity of the
grant writing process. Experience with emerging computer technologies
(such as 2.0) and their applications in academic libraries. Experience
with course management software such as WebCT or Blackboard. Additional
degree in a relevant discipline.
