Position Announcement
Graphic Designer
Maryville College, long recognized as one of the South’s best colleges,
currently has an opening for a full-time Graphic Designer in its Office of
Communications. The Graphic Designer’s main responsibilities will be to
design and produce the College’s printed publications and selected
projects. As part of the Advancement team, the Graphic Designer will
collaborate on general design issues in support of the overall initiatives
of the department and to promote the College.
Candidates with the following skills and abilities are encouraged to
apply:
* Proven experience in graphic design field with strong portfolio of
various projects and diverse clients.
* Preference and proven ability designing for print; familiarity and
awareness of designing in multimedia environments (Web, PowerPoint, video)
* Complete proficiency and proven experience with industry standard
design programs, such as Adobe PhotoShop, Quark, Adobe Illustrator, and
Adobe In Design
* Experience tailoring projects to fit specific budget requirements
while maintaining high, consistent quality
* Experience with establishing and maintaining vendor relationships
* Ability to maintain organized documentation of jobs and project
assets
* Proficiency working in either Mac OS or Windows environment;
familiarity with both
* Proficiency with standard programs, such as Microsoft Office (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Bachelor’s degree in graphic design with at least one year of work
experience (preferably in agency, magazine, corporate/nonprofit/higher ed
marketing environments)
