SPECIAL COLLECTIONS LIBRARIAN
This leadership position provides vision for the Special Collections and
University Archives unit within the library's team-based environment.
Responsibilities include collection development, acquisition,
preservation and organization of collections; cultivation of donor
relations, archival management, and intellectual access to the
collections. This position supervises a staff member, student
assistants, volunteers, and interns.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: ALA accredited MLS; experience in special
collections or archives; supervisory experience; capacity for
leadership including interpersonal and communication skills, analytical
independent problem solving and critical thinking and time management
skills; working knowledge of a wide variety of information technology
applications; demonstrated commitment to excellent customer services.
Preferred:
Experience with technological applications in digital library
developments in context of special collections or archives such as EAD,
imaging, database management, web based applications or web publishing;
experience with fundraising and donor cultivation; experience with
collections development; demonstrated current professional development.
SALARY/BENEFITS: Minimum is $41,000. Excellent benefits package.

Business Reference Librarian
The Business Reference Librarian supplies important informational,
reference and research assistance to the university community,
especially in the business areas. The position is essential for
providing instruction to on and off campus library users regarding
library resources, services, and collections. Utilizing business
resource expertise, the librarian collaborates with colleagues and
business faculty, develops new print and electronic collections,
programs, and products, and integrates information resources into course
instruction. Serves as a subject bibliographer and is involved with the
Information Literacy Instruction Team.
Required: ALA accredited MLS degree; demonstrated skills in instruction
and development of effective teaching materials; working knowledge of a
wide variety of information technology applications and proficiency in
the use of general and business print and electronic reference
resources; organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills;

trends, vendor relations, personnel management of 6.0 FTE classified
staff, and gift programs management. Also includes interdepartmental
team participation and collection development as a subject

Required: ALA accredited MLS; progressively responsible experience in
acquisitions operations or equivalent experience with budgeting, vendor
relations and purchasing; supervisory experience; analytical skills,
such as independent problem solving, critical thinking, quantitative
analysis, and time management; working knowledge of a wide variety of
information technology applications; demonstrated commitment to
excellent customer services; capacity for leadership, including
interpersonal and communication skills; experience working with an
integrated library system; knowledge of current trends and issues in
acquisitions. Preferred:
knowledge of current trends/issues in conservation/preservation;
demonstrated and current professional development; experience with
Innovative Interfaces, Inc. integrated library system (Millennium
preferred); experience with OCLC; collection development experience.
