Library Faculty Positions -- University of Nevada at Las Vegas -- Nevada
Univeristy of Nevada Las VegasLibrary Faculty Positions
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Libraries seeks innovative and
future-oriented library leaders to become:Director of Research and
Education - A division of the Libraries comprised of three
departments (Research & Information, Instruction, and Collection
Development), as well as three branch libraries: Architecture Studies,
Curriculum Materials and Music. The Director of Research and Education
will also provide overall leadership, through three department heads, for
the interdepartmental Libraries Subject Liaisons Group - librarians who
provide subject expertise and outreach to academic departments and
colleges in the areas of collection development, reference, and
information literacy. This senior management position, reporting to the
Dean of Libraries, will leverage technology and staff creativity to
address the next generation of library research and information literacy
initiatives, particularly as applied to virtual reference, collection
building and analysis based on academic program development, and
instructional design. Director of Technical Services - A division of
the Libraries comprised of two departments: Materials Ordering and
Receiving and Bibliographic and Metadata Services. This senior management
position, reporting to the Dean of Libraries, will leverage technology and
staff creativity to address the next generation of library technologies
particularly as applied to discovery and access tools, integrated library
systems, acquisition and cataloging of materials, and electronic resources
management.The UNLV Libraries value library-wide visioning, planning, and
collaboration and seeks Directors who share this value and who will work
closely with other senior managers and with staff from across the
Libraries in group decision-making structures. Access and Delivery
Services Librarian - This new faculty position, reporting to the Head
of Access and Delivery Services, will be a creative and user-centered
person supporting the advancement of services and operations that provide
easy access to the collections and resources of UNLV Libraries. The
incumbent&#f092;s primary area of responsibility will be management and
supervision of interlibrary loan and document delivery services, while
working closely with the Department Head to plan, develop, and deliver
responsive and innovative integrated service initiatives.For more
