NYU Job Opening:
Digital Studio Technology Specialist

The Digital Studio, a joint venture of NYU Libraries and NYU  
Information Technology Services, is NYU's gateway to digital services  
supporting scholarship and teaching. We are seeking a creative and  
service-oriented individual to provide human-centered technology  
services to the NYU community. The Digital Studio Technology  
Specialist's primary responsibilities will be to provide client  
service in the Digital Studio; think creatively about developing and  
providing services, equipment, work spaces, and workflows that meet  
client needs; and supervise support staff including hiring, training,  
and evaluating performance. The Technology Specialist will also work  
independently and collaboratively to develop and deliver training  
programs; integrate the Digital Studio with the mission and goals of  
NYU Libraries and ITS; consult with faculty, scholars, Libraries and  
ITS staff in evaluating current technology; research and test future  
information technologies; and design, develop, and implement IT  
services to meet the needs of a 21st-century research university. The  
Technology Specialist will report to the co-managers of the Digital  
Studio.

Required: Bachelor's degree and 3 years relevant experience or an  
equivalent combination; good interpersonal and communication skills;  
ability to work independently and collaboratively; interest in and a  
strong desire to learn about new information technologies;  
willingness to undertake responsibility; client service orientation.  
Demonstrated ability to supervise staff; provide information  
technology and training. Experience in one of the following areas:  
digital audio/video encoding/streaming, imaging, website design,  
instructional design, project management. The Digital Studio is a  
growing service and open hours will be expanding: the successful  
applicant will be willing to work evening and/or weekend hours.

Preferred: Master's degree and past work in an academic environment,  
preferably in Libraries and/or IT.
