Multiple Positions --  Southwest Minnesota State University -- Minnesota
 
Southwest Minnesota State University is one of seven universities in the
Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. SMSU is a four-year
public university and gives highest priority to excellence in teaching and
preparing students to be lifelong learners through quality undergraduate
teaching/advising and close student/faculty relationships. SMSU is located
in Marshall (pop. 13,000), in southwest Minnesota, 150 miles from
Minneapolis/St. Paul and 90 miles from Sioux Falls, S.D. Marshall has been
consistently recognized as one of "the best small towns in America."
Southwest Minnesota State University invites applications for the
following tenure track faculty openings to begin Fall Semester 2007.
Assistant Professor of Art (Graphic Design) - Teach undergraduate Graphic
Design courses with an emphasis on foundations and design process
education. Manage small Macintosh computer lab and oversee student lab
workers. With your application materials, include 20 slides or CD/DVD
examples of your creative work and student work along with an SASE, artist
statement and statement of teaching philosophy.Assistant Professor of
Business Administration (Agricultural and Business Marketing) -
Undergraduate and graduate teaching responsibilities in agribusiness,
marketing and economics. Assistant Professor of Business Administration
(Management/Health Care Management) - Undergraduate and graduate teaching
responsibilities in health care management and at least one other area in
management. Desirable areas of expertise would include leadership,
business ethics, entrepreneurship or human resource management.Assistant
Professor of Chemistry - Will teach inorganic chemistry, general chemistry
and other courses and participate in department and university service.
Supervision of undergraduate research and participation in Chemistry Club
activities is expected. Assistant Professor of Education - Facilitate
cohorts of graduate students, off campus, in learning communities.
Assistant Professor of Education (Secondary Education) - Teach students in
the undergraduate and graduate education programs including secondary
mathematics methods, technology, methods for secondary majors. Assistant
Professor of Education (Elementary Education) - Teach students in the
undergraduate and graduate education programs, including courses such as
social studies methods, action research, and child growth and development.
Assistant Professor of Education (Early Childhood) - Teach students in the
distance learning Early Childhood undergraduate program, including general
methods courses such as reading, science, math, social studies, action
research, technology, and other assignments as designated by the education
unit. Courses will be delivered via interactive television (ITV) during
evening hours, and in a blended online format.Assistant Professor of
Hotel/Restaurant Administration - Will develop and teach courses at the BS
and MBA levels in one or more primary subject areas within the
Hotel/Restaurant Administration program. Courses taught include
hospitality management, lodging administration, restaurant management,
facility and event management, operations management, marketing, resorts,
gaming, and general business courses. Librarian - Provide leadership to
plan, deliver, and assess reference and interlibrary loan services to meet
the needs of a diverse student curriculum and population on and off campus.
The following Fixed Term (temporary) position is available to begin Fall
Semester 2007Assistant Professor of Mathematics - Teach a full range of
undergraduate courses in mathematics and participate in department and
