Dean, School of Library and Information Management -- Emporia State
University -- Kansas
Dean: Emporia State University is seeking a dean to lead a dynamic
program offering B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees to dispersed campuses
through innovative delivery of both face-to-face and online education.
The dean's mission will be to maintain and expand distance education
opportunities; to motivate and support high level faculty performance in
teaching, scholarship, and service; to maintain close relations with the
academic community, alumni, professionals, and the local community; to
develop external sources of funding; and to maintain American Library
Association accreditation. The successful candidate will have an earned
doctorate appropriate for leadership in library and information studies; a
graduate degree in a library or information management discipline; a vision
for the roles of information professionals in a dynamically changing world;
a commitment to serving lifelong learning needs of practicing
professionals; a record of successful teaching, research, and service in
higher education; pertinent higher education administrative experience;
and an entrepreneurial spirit. Nominations, a letter of application, a
