McNeese State University invites qualified applicants to apply for the
position of Government Documents Librarian at Frazar Memorial Library.
This
is a full-time, 12-month, unclassified, tenure-track position. Starting
date is December 1, 2006, or until position filled.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
The Government Documents Librarian coordinates all public and technical
services of the Government Documents Department. Specific duties
include:
Establish department policies and procedures
Plan, coordinate, and supervise department activities
Supervise and evaluate department staff
Instruct patrons in the use of government information resources
Organize, maintain, and develop Documents collection and web site.
Provide research services for the McNeese and local/regional communities
Prepare reports and maintain department statistics
Report on department activities, needs, and issues to Library Director
Participate in library and university committees
Complete special projects or assignments as requested by Library
Director
Interact with McNeese faculty, staff, and students
Interact with other library professionals and community members
Participate in professional training and development
Qualifications, Required:
Masters Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
Qualifications, Preferred:
Two years experience in an academic library
Government Documents experience
Supervisory experience
Salary:
$37,000
