September Meeting
Doing the Right Thing – A Half-day Program on Ethics in the PR Workplace
To celebrate PRSA Ethics Month in September, the Nashville Chapter is hosting a half day professional development program dedicated to ethics. It will feature three sessions:
· Dr. Harry Hollis, director of Belmont University’s Center for Business Ethics, will address “Dealing with Professional Ethics Challenges: A Survival Strategy.”
· Ethics Panel Discussion featuring PR practitioners and journalists who will grapple with a variety of pressing ethical issues. Moderated by chapter ethics officer, Aileen Katcher, confirmed panelists include Beth Courtney, Seigenthaler Public Relations, Dan MacDonald, Bridgestone-Firestone, Clint Brewer, City Paper, and Nancy Amons of WSMV I-Team.
· Dr. Christopher Bauer of Bauer Ethics Seminars will discuss “Serious Ethics Programs That Will Make You Laugh.” Ethics and fun aren't two words you normally hear in the same sentence. This program presents ethics differently than you have ever experienced before! It won't be a review of the ethics code, case studies, or case law. It is a unique (and fun!) program designed to assure that you and your entire organization are able to truly 'walk the talk' of great ethics.
In addition to the special program, the seminar will be worth half a point toward APR maintenance, for members who are accredited.
