Hey guys,

We had a great time Thursday making Valentine's Day Cards for Team Vols. We
also had a member and officer meeting. Here are the minutes:

Vivian Williams came and talked about tutoring at Green School. The contact
person for this activity is Becca. The after school tutoring program is from
3-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Volunteers would be helping students
kindergarten through fifth grade with math and reading. There is also a
teacher's assistant program in the mornings at 9:30 a.m. Volunteers must first
fill out a Big Brothers, Big Sisters form. E-mail Becca at [log in to unmask] if

Green School also has a clothing pantry that needs to be restocked. Pants and
underware for boys and girls, size 5-6 and 10-12, are needed. We'll probably
ask members to bring in these items to our next meeting in March. The Green
School is also selling calendars for $6. All money goes to Green School.

Leadership Conference is February 24-26. Officers and those interested in
becoming officers are welcome to come. Registration fee is $75 and the hotel
cost is $90 a night. Golden Key will help financially with some of the costs.

We are doing Relay for Life, April 21-22. Go to website web.utk.edu/~relay and
sign up with Golden Key's team. Order a pizza from Domino's on any Wednesday
in February and mention Relay for Life. 10% of the order will go to Relay!!

Kaplan Workshop is Feb. 15 from 7-8 at the UC Room 221. Cost is $3 and
proceeds will go to Green School. The Kaplan free practice tests are Feb. 25.
Call 1-800-KAP-TEST to sign up. Tell all your friends and tell them to say
their with Golden Key. The organization that gets the most people to sign up
wins a free voucher for a Kaplan class.

PRSSA Bateman Group Project is Feb 22 5-7 pm. Get a team of at least five
together to compete in Habitat for Humanity Olympics. Prizes go to the team
who wins in each event and the team who brings the most fans. Library Survey
is coming out at the end of February. Please fill it out when you get it.

We are collecting books to take to the Leadership conference. The books
donated will go to Hope Elementary School in Atlanta. Talk to your professors
for books that they don't want. Contact Jeremy at [log in to unmask] if you have
more questions.

We are still looking for speakers for our upcoming meetings. If you have any
suggestions e-mail Casey. Our next meeting is tentatively set for the week of
March 7. We will be having our Sophomore Recognition May 2nd 1-3 p.m., so put
it on your calendars!!

Lastly, we are thinking about doing trail work in the Smokey Mountains as a
service project. We'll invite the Golden Keyers from MTSU and UTC to stay with
us and then go up to the Smokeys on Saturday. The instructors would teach us
about the environment and then we would actively help clean it up.
