Knoxville Zoo bird and trainer to be on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno
Be sure to tune into the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Wednesday, July 6, at 11:30 p.m. on WBIR-TV Ch. 10. Einstein, star of Knoxville Zoo's popular Bird Show, along with Lead Bird Show Trainer Stephanie White, will make a guest appearance on the show. The zoo will share the couch with Roseanne Barr. Musical guests will be American Idol runner-up Bo Bice accompanied by Bon Jovi lead guitarist Richie Sambora.
Einstein, an African grey parrot, has an extensive verbal vocabulary and is able to mimic animals and other sounds. These types of parrots are one of the smartest bird species and are known as the best talkers. Einstein was hatched in California in 1987 and was donated to Knoxville Zoo in 1992 by a couple that owned her.
Einstein is also being featured on the Animal Planet web site for an appearance she made on Pet Star. They are giving online voters a chance to decide on their favorite contestant of all time by watching clips of several of the different animals. Einstein is leading now, but we would like for everyone to log on and cast their vote. It is as easy as clicking on the link below.
