Please go to http://www.goldenkey.org/GKweb/MembersOnly
login and check your address on file. It's important to keep that up to date
to continue to receive your membership benefits. After all, you bought a
lifetime membership, so you do GET benefits for life, as long as we can offer
them to you.
We invite you to be our honored guest at the
SPRING RECOGNITION ICE CREAM SOCIAL
3PM FRI 29 APR 2005 at the BLACK CULTURAL CENTER
We’ll be serving up tons of free ice cream and recognizing our honorary
members (good contacts!), rising juniors who will likely be invited for
membership in the fall, as well as the achievements of you, our awesome
membership! So, come makes some contacts (bring a few resumes, seriously).
Graduating seniors:
Come get your cord, stole, medallion, T-shirt, pin and/or charm on the U.C.
plaza Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am – 2pm. Stop by and get some information
on one of our latest partners, Vault career site, too. (We get free membership
to what Fortune magazine calls, “The best place on the web to prepare for a
job search.”)
And, again, congrats on (FINALLY!) reaping the rewards of all your hard work!
Mark your summer calendars: 11-14 Aug in Los Angeles INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP
CONFERENCE
This is the greatest learning experience I’ve had in college, bar none.
International conference focuses more on the student (as grad/future grad).
There is a HUGE job fair (bring 200 resumes, really!) as well as a chance to
schmooze and make contacts from all over the world. I can’t begin to tell you
how immensely important networking is. Golden Key negotiated a special rate
with the hotel - $110 for a single/double, $115 for a triple/quad. So, don’t
forget to register by 01 May (early bird discount) and let us know so that we
can arrange accommodations for our group. Also, let us know if you’d like to
consider alternate (non-airline) routes of transportation. Just contact
[log in to unmask]
It has been both an honor and a privilege serving as your president. I would
like to leave you with two thoughts with which I try to run this office as
well as my life:
“It is not only what we do, but also what we do not do, for which we are
accountable.”
--Moliere
“Don’t let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in
the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put
that passing time to the best possible use.”
--Earl Nightingale
Good-bye, good luck, and may the gods stand between you and danger in all the
dark places you may walk.
Most sincerely,
Jennifer LeBlanc Gridley
