SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of Silverpop’s overall communications and public relations initiatives including strategic development of thought capital and communications strategies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and manage customer, partner, employee and prospect communications. This includes a monthly customer newsletter, a monthly company newsletter, a quarterly industry newsletter, company announcements, product announcements and others as appropriate
Develop, manage and maintain relationships with appropriate analysts, as well as local, national and trade media
Identify relevant editorial opportunities by creating and managing an editorial calendar
Proactively pitch media on company-critical announcements, article ideas, trend pieces, etc. to regularly secure placements
Write press releases and coordinate appropriate opportunities for exclusives with media
Write bylined articles, white papers and case studies (on average, one of each per month)
Maintain weekly blog on CEO's book Web site
Promote CEO's book among trade, local and national press and analysts
Coordinate and conduct media and analyst tours to promote launches of new products as appropriate
Identify relevant speaking opportunities, including conferences, conventions and association meetings and pitch Silverpop executives as speakers
Manage local and national relationships with affiliations and associations
Create internal and external talking points for crisis/issue management
Maintain media kit
Manage media clips, as well as public relations related pages on Silverpop's Web site
Write ad copy and other marketing materials, including product collateral and supporting documents as required
Assist marketing in the planning and promotion of special events such as webinars and customer conference including writing copy and working with speakers to develop and fine-tune presentations
Conduct weekly competitor surveillance
Organize and lead quarterly brainstorming sessions with key executives to uncover potential pitch ideas and trends in the industry
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of public relations or corporate communications experience with successful media & trade relations. Marketing Communications experience is a plus. Demonstrated written & oral communications and organizational skills is a must. The candidate must have excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects concurrently while maintaining attention to details. A BS in journalism, public relations or related field is preferred. High-tech experience is a plus.
