You are cordially invited to attend a Black History Month presentation by
award-winning author and historian Gail Buckley on Thursday, Feb. 24, 4 p.m.
at the Black Cultural Center on the UT campus. Buckley, the daughter of
legendary actress and singer Lena Horne, will talk about her family history as
well as her book, "American Patriots: The Story of Blacks in the Military from
the Revolution to Desert Storm." A book signing and reception will follow her
presentation. The event is sponsored by the College of Communication and
Information, the School of Journalism and Electronic Media, Minority Student
Affairs and the Black Cultural Programming Committee. It's free and open to
the public. Unfortunately, I can't offer you parking, but at that time of day,
there may be some spaces in the University Center garage. The BCC is about 3
blocks west of the UC, across from Hess Hall.
