Director of Media Relations – The Nashville Symphony
-Work closely with local, national, international and trade media to develop
and place stories that promote all aspects of The Nashville Symphony’s
business, including concerts and special events, recording news, concert hall
news,
miscellaneous business news (fundraising news, new hires/promotions, etc.),
education/outreach efforts, and Symphony Guild and Chorus news
-Monitor, measure and present compelling results
-Cultivate deep relationships with Symphony staff, musicians, board and
miscellaneous committees to understand and help fulfill organizational goals
via
media placements
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism,
communications or related area. Minimum of 5 years proven media relations
experience.
Strong writing skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge of classical
music/music industry a plus. Willingness/ability to travel on a limited basis
and
work select evenings/weekends.
