Hey everyone! Hope the first (and by Nov, second) round of exams went well for
you. Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know what is up with Golden
Key...

First, thanks to everyone who expressed interest in the pollwork, even if you
weren't eligible. It made me proud of my generation to see how many people
answered that call!

Secondly, we've got lots of great service projects going right now. David
([log in to unmask]) is once again coordinating our tutoring M-Th 3-4pm at Green
Math & Science (elementary magnet school). Rachel ([log in to unmask]) is working
on adopting Austin-East (inner city) High School so that we can try to
convince more kids to come to college... and help them find the money to do
it. And Grant ([log in to unmask]) has found some opportunities for us to help out
the park service & have some fun too doing trail maintanence. Please contact
the listed person to express interest or ask questions.

Thirdly (I've always hated that word... there should be a better one, really),
our induction ceremony is Tuesday, Nov 9 at 7pm in the UC Ballroom. It's going
to be a nice ceremony with a reception (read: free food) afterwards. We'll
have some of our sponsors there to talk about what they can offer our members,
as well as most of our officers to schmooze with. All (current members, newly
inducted members, and our non-member friends) are welcome to attend.

Lastly, our next meeting is going to be Wednesday, Nov 10 at 7pm in the UC
(room TBA). We'll be talking about our service projects, taking new ideas for
programs, and discussing our big fundraiser too. We'll try to bring
refreshments (depends on how kind & friendly the "new kinder, friendlier"
Aramark is). There'll be candy if nothing else!
