POSITION TITLE: Director RELEASE DATE: March 25, 2004
DEPARTMENT: Public Relations
POSITION SUMMARY: Disseminates information to various constituents both
internally and externally, including answering inquiries from the media,
university staff, and the community. Writes radio announcements, public
service announcements, news releases, etc. Develops new ways to promote TSU
and enhance its image on a continuous basis by reviewing programs and making
suggestions. Reviews publications from other departments; coordinates office
operations; attends meetings dealing with University events, represents the
President and Vice President at these events as needed. Oversees printing
operations and performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Requires a Baccalaureate degree in Communications,
Journalism, or related field and at least four years of experience related to
the above. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent
interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a diverse group of
individuals.
SALARY RANGE: $51,946-$63,889

from several retirement plans; are eligible to participate in a major
medical/health plan, dental plan and disability plan; and accrue sick and/or
