Big meeting next Tuesday at 6;00 in TRECs, and back by popular
demand.....PIZZA and drinks. I will be sending out an email Sunday telling
more about it but look forward to it.Also to hold you over until then, below
are two activities that I know everyone is excited about
Hey everyone!
Get excited about Relay for Life!! The date for it is April 16-17. Here is a
little run-down on what the event actually is. Organizations on campus make
teams of 10-15 people (we can have more than one group) and register for $10 a
person. Then each team/person raises money in different ways up until the
event. You can also keep raising money throughout the night. On the actual
day, each team sets up a campsite and you stay up for 12 hours. Each team has
a person or people walking/running on the track the entire time. There are
activities and entertainment throughout the night. All the money goes to the
American Cancer Society.
This is really a good cause and is so much fun. Due to the fact that I have to
take the MCAT on the 17th I won't be there the whole night and I really need
some help putting our team together. These are the people that have signed up
for the committee so far:
Stuart Griswold
Mason Jones
Matt Compton
Jennifer Gridley
David Dean
Kristin McGrath
Jennifer Szeto
Shandra Lynch (maybe)
Ying Xayasane (maybe)
Beth Anderson
The more the better to help out with the organization. These are the
"positions" I'll be needing people for the committee:
assistant (to go to meetings and kind of head it up), fund raising,
decorations/campsite, food, morale.
So, if you want to get involved please email me and I'll add you to the
committee/participant list. If you want to participate that does not mean you
have to be on the committee so if you only want to do it that is totally fine.
Okay, sorry this was so long. I hope we really have a big team this year
because we had so much fun last year!! Y'all have a great week!

Next I have an exciting new community service opportunity to tell you all
about!
On February 26th Golden Key will again be partnering with Green Math and
Science Academy to help them put on their Fifth Annual African-American
History Month Scholars Bowl. Golden Key will be providing "Quizmasters" who
will read the questions to the competing children. Those who are interested
can E-mail me at [log in to unmask] . Commitment to this event means attending
an orientation at 6:00 pm Wednesday February 25th in addition to the actual
event, which will be held 8:00 am -12 pm on the 26th. You do NOT need to be
there for the entire 4 hours. Whatever time you can donate will be much
appreciated, even if it is only 30 minutes. Again, E-mail me with questions
or to express interest.
