For all of you who missed the meeting, here is some of what we went over
today.
Golden Key Meeting
October 14, 2003
Make a Difference Day is coming up a week from this Thursday, on October 23.
We really need as many people to come out and help with the different
activities we’re setting up for the kids at the Boys and Girls Club. We will
be meeting at 3:45 at the Money Wall and will be at the Boys and Girls Club
until 6. We will be doing sports such as football, cheerleading, baseball and
soccer. Come and help out or head up something new. This is a really great
event and we really need you guys to come out, even if you don’t play sports,
to make this as much fun as possible for the kids. For more information
e-mail David Deane [log in to unmask]
Green School Tutoring is still going on. You can still join in on all the
fun. Come on any of the days, Monday-Thursday from 3-4 to help shape young
minds. E-mail David Deane for more information [log in to unmask]
Golden Key has its information tables out tomorrow. If you haven’t been able
to make it out to meetings and really want to know more about what we’re
about, come by the UC Patio anytime tomorrow from 10-2. We will have a booth
with information sheets and board members to tell you more about our
organization.
Golden Key is going to be in the Homecoming Parade on Oct 31. We need someone
with a big truck to drive in it with us. If you have a truck or would like to
be with us in the parade, e-mail Crystal Gilreath [log in to unmask]
Golden Key Induction is coming. This is open to all members and will be held
off campus at the University Club on November 10 from 6-7 with a reception to
follow. There will be food and a cash bar there. If you would like to help
out please e-mail Lee West [log in to unmask]
We are holding a Children’s Book Drive. If you have old children’s books that
you want to get rid of, bring them to meeting or give them to a board member.
We will also be collecting these at Induction on November 10.
On October 30 Golden is co-sponsoring an AIDS awareness event with Lambda
Theta Alpha. Screenings will be given that day and we need people to
volunteer to represent Golden Key that day from 10-2 in the UC. You will not
have to do anything other than hang out there and represent us well. For more
information or to sign up e-mail Jennifer Gridley [log in to unmask]
