Corporate Communications Manager
Randstad North America, the US subsidiary of the fourth largest staffing
firm in the world, seeks a strong Corporate Communications Manager. Must
have 5-10 years experience, with significant background in corporate PR.
Journalism background and PR agency experience are definite plusses.
Candidate must have excellent writing, editing and reporting skills;
superior news judgment; skill in developing news releases and pitching
stories to journalists; seasoned communications planning and execution
skills and an ability to interact with senior management authoritatively.
Responsibilities include: employee communications, with expertise in new
media content management; local and trade media relations; crisis
communications; executive speech writing; agency management; PR research;

hiring a Director of Community Relations at its corporate headquarters in
Atlanta.
The director is responsible for:
* setting and executing the company's overall community relations strategy,
including numerous education-related initiatives;
* directly overseeing programs of a companywide, national nature, while
providing direction, support and counsel to teams responsible for executing
local community programs in more than 25 Cox markets nationwide;
* ensuring that Cox's goodwill support of community causes and
organizations not only benefits the recipients, but also delivers
measurable return on investment and supports the company's overall
strategic objectives;
* capturing and communicating the tangible and intangible value of Cox's
companywide contributions of cash and in-kind services;
* ensuring integration of education and community relations initiatives
with numerous departments at corporate headquarters and field locations
(including Cox Business Services, which provides telecommunications
services for profit to education customers); and
* serving as Cox's representative to the cable telecommunications industry
on community relations and education matters.
The position requires extensive senior-level experience in community
relations and other PR disciplines, at least eight years of relevant work
experience, and demonstrable strategic business sensibility. The ideal
candidate has expertise in managing corporate contributions (including
donation of in-kind services), working closely with schools and educators,
overseeing employee volunteerism programs, negotiating and managing
successful partnerships, managing personnel, and working in a decentralized
business environment. Knowledge of the cable TV, telecom and technology
fields is a plus, as is senior-level experience in both corporate and
nonprofit environments.
