I have recently been notified that I will serve as the Program Manager for
the public affairs contract for the U.S. Army Chemical Demilitarization
awarded out of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD (north of Baltimore ~20 miles)
The contract is a five-year, $35million ceiling public affairs contract to
support offices in 8 sites and additional cleanup activities in 38 states.
This is one of the largest federal programs awarded and offers a great
opportunity to gain experience in media relations, employee relations,
legislative support, product development, meeting planning, public
participation, speaker training and emergency planning.
I will be interviewing individuals interested in working on the program over
the next month and would encourage you to submit a resume if you would be
interested. There are currently openings at entry level, mid-level, and
senior positions for some areas. It is a controversial and exciting program
to support if you are interested in government relations and community
relations at its best. In addition, I am hoping to work with UT to develop
some on-site, paid interships for each semester.
