Job Summary:
The Director is responsible for developing and managing the university's
branding and marketing operations, in cooperation and concert with other
university officers concerned with the university's reputation, success in
recruiting students and faculty, and perception of quality by its various
stakeholders and publics. Position supervises a staff of writers, editors,
designers, and researchers in support of the university's marketing efforts
and is concerned with developing research-based,
customer/stakeholder-focused, outcomes-determined plans for the activities
of the public relations office. Works with head of PR in overall operations
of the office of public relations.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a marketing or communications
field. Master's preferred. Several years experience required in a higher
education setting in a publications, marketing, public relations, design,
or communications office, with at least two years in a management capacity.
Requires people skills, demonstrated ability in oral and written
communications, demonstrated ability to lead, delegate, and follow through
on plans. Marketing expertise preferred.
