The deadline for entering the PRSA Awards is almost here! Entries are due no
later than Thursday, March 7 at 5 p.m., and late entries (with a $10 late
fee for each entry) are due no later than Friday, March 8 at 5 p.m. As time
draws near for entering the 2002 Volunteer Chapter PRSA Awards of Excellence
and we rush to complete the entries and two-page summaries, please take a
minute to look at the attached helpful documents.
One document has some helpful hints for preparing your overall entry for the
awards. These little pieces of advice are passed on from last year's awards
workshop and can be very useful in preparing an entry in the best way
possible.
The other document is a step-by-step guide to preparing your two-page
summary. It is an extremely helpful tool for preparing a great two-page
summary which is the first thing judges see!
And, if that's not enough, we are putting together a panel of past entrants
to help "mentor" any new entrants and answer any questions while preparing
your entries for the 2002 awards. If you are interested in being part of
this mentoring panel - providing useful advice for anyone requesting your
"expert" opinion and possibly showing a new entrant one of your old entries
- or would like the contact information for this panel, please e-mail or
call me by this Friday.
Potential and new entrants can utilize this past entrant panel next week and
the one after that to prepare their entries and get some helpful advice and
tips from the past entrants. The contact list will be available for anyone
who contacts me by Friday, February 22. Again, please contact me if you're
interested in helping out as a past entrant (we still need more people to
help) or if you are a potential new entrant and would like to take advantage
of this opportunity!
And, last but not least, please take the time to honor those in our
community who make a difference by nominating someone for an individual
award! Those nominations are due to me no later than Friday, March 1. It is
FREE to enter someone and there are many people who need to be thanked and
recognized for the role they play in our community. If you need more
information, please contact me. Please take the time though to nominate an
individual (or many individuals) for these honors!
