PRSA Monthly E-Newsletter
March 2001

Director of Web Content Hired
PRSA has hired Robin A. Michaels as Director of Web Content. Among other
duties, she will be responsible for managing the redesign of the PRSA Web
site. According to PRSA President and COO Catherine A. Bolton, "Robin's
design and editorial experience will be a great asset to the Society,
particularly as we try to integrate our communications and lifelong learning
offerings into the interactive environment. I know that under her direction,
the PRSA Web site will become a model for effective communication and
information delivery."

Don't Miss the Bronze Anvil Submission Deadline
Recognizing the very best in public relations tactics, the Bronze Anvil is
awarded in 21 categories, including media relations, magazines and annual
reports. The submission deadline for Bronze Anvils is April 6. The Bronze
Anvil winners will be announced at the Silver Anvil Evening, June 14, in New
York and recognized in the October issue of Public Relations Tactics.

The Multicultural Directory is Now On Sale
The Directory of Multicultural Public Relations Professionals & Firms is a
comprehensive listing of some of today's top PR practitioners and firms.
Proceeds from the sale of the directory support PRSA's Multicultural Affairs
Section scholarships for students interested in studying public relations
and communications. The Section strives to address the needs of PR
practitioners who develop and implement programs and activities designed to
communicate with diverse audiences. The directory also emphasizes PRSA's
dedication to diversity in the workplace. Made possible through a grant from
the Provost's Fund for Academic Excellence at Howard University in
Washington, D.C., the directory can be purchased from the PRSA Professional
Resource Center by phone (212.460.1459), fax (212.995.0757) or e-mail

iMIS
We're making progress with iMIS, but we need your help. For the past several
weeks, Alex Ortiz, our IT guru, and ASI, the developer of the software
package, have been working on system upgrades. In addition, the "fix-it"
team has corrected the problems made during the original installation. We
plan to have the Web module ready for testing by May (We will be testing
three areas: Membership, Drops and New Members). So we need volunteers
representing small, medium and large chapters to advise us on what reports
are needed. If you wish to participate, please contact Bob Niehaus at
