The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture seeks
applications for the position of Director of Marketing and Communications.
The primary functions of the director are to provide leadership for the
Institute's marketing efforts including conducting market research and
implementing an Institute-wide marketing plan; managing print and
electronic publications, media services, Web design, and broadcast
production; and providing other needed services and products. The director
supervises and leads the marketing and communications team; works closely
with other Institute units, and contracts with vendors and UT service
providers to secure outsourced products. The director reports to the Vice
President for Agriculture.
The successful candidate will have a B.S. degree in marketing,
communications, or related field, although an advanced degree is preferred;
10 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing and
communications; a proven track record in developing and implementing
marketing plans; demonstrated success in supervising a large staff using a
collaborative team- building leadership style; familiarity with new
communications technologies; and strong oral and written communication
skills.
