Great idea!
Right here in Knoxville the Women's Center helps women find jobs. It's a
great nonprofit organization operating on a shoestring budget. They have
classes on how to do your resume, the job search itself, aptitude and
interest testing, computer skills classes, personal counseling to help any
woman get started into the job market. They keep in touch with local
employers to find out what jobs are available - advertised or not.
They also have a clothes closet to help women who can't afford the "right"
clothes to wear for the interview and the first few weeks of their new job.
These people help any woman who's looking for a job in the Knoxville area,
including those of us who have advanced college degrees and just don't know
the area. However, they specialize in women entering the workforce for the
first time and women re-entering the workforce.
They're located downtown at 220 Carrick and their phone number is 546-1873.

Subject: PRSA ladies: What to do with your slightly used suits??
I saw a great story on the below org. on 60 Minutes or one of their ilk.
They really do great work to help needy women feel confident going on
interviews. The closest chapters are Nashville and Atlanta, but I'm sure
they'll accept mailed donations.
Just a thought if you have some nice clothes you don't use anymore that
could really make a difference in another woman's life . . . I know I have
TONS of suits hanging around that I could send them.
