As a reminder, our 2000 Awards of Excellence program workshop will take
place THIS THURSDAY, February 3, from 5:30-6:45 p.m. at Union Planters
Bank's 24th floor conference room at the downtown office (900 S. Gay
Street; Riverview Tower Building -- beside the First Tennessee building
where Club LeConte is located).
Alan Carmichael of Moxley Carmichael and Ann Crytser, APR, of Blount
Memorial Hospital will serve on a panel of past award winners and will
share some tips for:
*selecting the work you wish to enter for the awards
*compiling information that needs to be included with your entry
*ensuring that critical evidence of the multi-step public relations
process is reflected in your entry
*avoiding the pitfalls of an incomplete entry -- i.e., what many award
participants sometimes overlook
*organizing your entry binder in a way that maximizes judges' ability to
quickly understand and assess the value of your work
Alan and Ann will share some of their previous years' winning entry
binders, and I will join them on the panel by sharing BankFirst's three
winning entries from last year.
ALSO OF IMPORTANCE, some members of Melissa Flynn's awards committee
will be on hand to review this year's rules and judging criteria and to
answer any questions you might have.
I hope you'll attend. This workshop is the best opportunity you'll have
to get some helpful ideas from your colleagues and to ask questions.
Please contact me via e-mail or phone by Wednesday afternoon, 2/2, if
you plan to attend.
Thank you, and thanks also to Alan Carmichael and Ann Crytser for taking
time out of their busy schedules to lend their assistance.
