Dear math students,
Each Spring semester the Math Department offers Math 397 (3 credit hours, meets TR 4:05 - 5:20 pm). This course is aimed towards students who plan to apply to grad school in mathematics or related areas.
Math 397 used to be a seminar only open to honors students, but starting this Spring we will turn it into a full 3-credit hour class, open to all math students. During the course we will discuss the graduate school application process, and we will review the main undergraduate math topics by preparing for the Math GRE exam. Grades will be assigned based on class attendance, class participation, and a handful of homework assignments.
If you plan to apply for grad school next academic year, I highly recommend that you take Math 397 in Spring 2025. If you have further questions about the course content please let me know.
