Hi, everyone!
On behalf of The Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) at UTK, we'd like to invite everyone to join us for a pizza dinner with a special (virtual) guest, Dr. Frank Camacho of the University of Guam, on October 14th at 5:30 pm in the Conference Room (4th Floor) of Ayres Hall. The talk will start promptly at 6pm. Please RSVP here:

Dr. Camacho will be giving a talk titled “Fish and SNPs: Data Analysis in Fisheries and Genetics Research."
During the dinner, there will be an opportunity to hear about Dr. Camacho's research, which focuses on two major areas: 1) the age and growth of fish, modeled using Von Bertalanffy growth equations, and 2) the genetics of Pacific Islander populations, including analysis of ancient remains (with a recent paper published in Science in 2022). He will also discuss the types of statistical analyses used in these different disciplines.
We hope to see you there!
