This is the second announcement of the conference “Moduli and Friends”, which will take place at the Simion Stoilow Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy (IMAR), Bucharest, during the week 11–15 September 2023.


The conference will be focused on the topics of moduli spaces, including configuration spaces and hyperplane arrangements, braid groups, mapping class groups and quantum representations. The goal is to bring together researchers working in different areas under the general umbrella of “moduli spaces” and to encourage the discovery of new connections between these areas.

Registration is open until 25 August or until the maximal number of participants is reached.


We expect to have some funding to cover the cost of accommodation. If you would like to give a contributed talk or request funding for accommodation, please register by 30 June.

In order to keep down the volume of e-mail, only TWO announcements per conference will be approved by the moderator. The "subject" of your message should include the name of the conference and the number (first or second) of the announcement, e.g. Gauss Memorial Lectures in Geometry: Second Announcement.

You are strongly encouraged to provide essential information such as dates and location near the top of the body of your message, and not require someone to visit your conference link to find it.

Please check that your announcement (especially the website) is correct. Corrections will be approved only in the most critical situations, e.g. if corrected information is not available on the website. After submitting an announcement you may receive a message asking you to confirm your submission. This feature is designed to thwart the hundreds of machine-generated spam that are sent to the list and would otherwise have to be manually blocked by the moderator.
