Galois Theory of Periods and Applications,
March 27, 2017 - March 31, 2017.
Periods are integrals of algebraic differential forms over
algebraically-defined domains and are ubiquitous in mathematics
and physics. A deep idea, originating with Grothendieck, is that
there should be a Galois theory of periods. This general
principle provides a unifying approach to several problems in
the theory of motives, quantum groups and geometric group
theory. This conference will bring together leading experts
around this subject and cover topics such as the theory of
multiple zeta values, modular forms, and motivic fundamental
groups.
In addition to research-level talks, there will be a number of
afternoon sessions covering different aspects of background
material. Young researchers in the field are strongly
encouraged to apply.

For example, if your submission starts with "Please post this on the geometry list" then your conference announcement will also begin with that statement. In order to keep down the volume of e-mail, only TWO announcements per conference will be approved by the moderator. The "subject" of your message should include the name of the conference and the number (first or second) of the announcement, e.g. Gauss Memorial Lectures in Geometry: Second Announcement. Please check that your announcement (especially the website) is correct.
