YAMABE SYMPOSIUM SEPTEMBER 26 -- 28, 2008

        In three weeks, September 26-28 (Friday-Sunday) we will hold the
Fourth Yamabe Memorial Symposium at the University of Minnesota in
Minneapolis.  The topic this time is "Geometry and Analysis".  Confirmed
speakers are:

                      Financial Support

        We have funding from the National Science Foundation to
defray workshop expenses for a number of participants, with
highest preference given to younger scientists (grad students,
postdocs, young faculty or researchers at most five years after
Ph.D.), although all active people are eligible.  Women and
minorities are especially encouraged to apply.  The application
deadline has passed, but there may still be partial funding
available.

If you are applying for financial assistance, you should send a
brief CV and have one letter of recommendation, addressing your
qualifications, sent to [log in to unmask]  The letter is
optional for people more than three years after receiving a Ph.D.

Registration for the workshop can be done on the web at
